Kilpatrick Townsend Adds Kathryn Shipe to Atlanta Office

ATLANTA (January 23) – Kilpatrick Townsend & Stockton announced the addition of Kathryn “Kitt” Shipe as Franchise of Counsel on the Franchise Team in the firm’s internationally-recognized Intellectual Property Department.

For over 20 years, Ms. Shipe has assisted dozens of companies in structuring, forming, launching, and growing successful franchise programs in numerous industries. She routinely counsels franchise companies and private equity on the purchase and sale of franchise systems, and represents individual owners in the purchase and sale of existing businesses. In addition, she counsels clients on the purchase of franchise rights, assisting in the review of franchise disclosure documents, franchise agreements, development agreements, area representative agreements, and master rights agreements.

Ms. Shipe earned her J.D. from the University of North Carolina School of Law. She received her B.A., magna cum laude, in East Asian Studies from the University of North Carolina. Ms. Shipe is recognized as a “Legal Eagle” by Franchise Times.
